Consultation Services:
Consultation services include meetings, site visits, reports, sketches and detailed drawings, as well as follow-up support after a project is completed. Specialized consultation is also available for homeowners or realtors needing assistance/advice on staging the outdoors for quick and profitable home sales - see STAGING.
Master Planning Services:
The Master Planning stage begins with an inventory and analysis of the key features of the site, including sun and shade, microclimate, topography, vegetation, water, roads, paths and service areas. The design process begins with a site program, which is developed from the client's wish list. The process is iterative and often requires open dialogue between the client and designer. The result is a Master Plan, which represents the final vision. The Master Plan can be estimated in terms of construction cost and serves as the point of departure for the design stages to follow.
Concept / Schematic Design Services:
Less complex projects often combine these two stages. Typically this is the point at which a concept for a particular portion of the Master Plan is refined. Materials such as plantings, pavements and ideas about grades and topography are chosen.
Design Development Services:
Developing the design is about the detailing - stone wall coursing, paving patterns, fountain details, choice of lighting and furniture, etc.
Construction Documentation Services:
Technical drawings and specifications which provide an outline for the contractor of products and materials, installation, guarantees and maintenance for the design.
Bidding and Negotiation Services:
This phase includes a Pre-Bid meeting with selected contractors, answering contractors' questions and assisting the Client in reviewing the bids.
Construction Administration Services:
In this stage, plant material is selected at the nursery, questions from the contractor are answered, the construction process is observed and a final "punchlist" is prepared to make sure all work is completed in accordance with the design and construction documents.
